The power of ‘let’
You might say I grew up with my dukes up. I figured that if anything would be made of my life, I would have to make it happen.
And then, after some years of pushing, willing, and trying every which way to make things happen—with limited results—I found a much better way to approach life. Through the study of Christian Science, I learned about what I call the power of “let.” Such a small word, with such big implications. Getting a fuller understanding of what that can mean for seekers of spiritual truth provides a lift to our efforts to grow in our understanding of the Divine. And, of course, spiritual growth results in wonderful things happening.
The Discoverer of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, emphasized the concept of “let” when she gave the members of her Church a prayer to be used daily. In this “Daily Prayer” from the Manual of The Mother Church, she wrote, “... let the reign of divine Truth, Life, and Love be established in me …” (p. 41).
