No longer lactose intolerant
Many years ago, I began to experience stomach pain and diarrhea after drinking milk. Some time later, I watched a news program that explained lactose intolerance and discovered that the symptoms described included the ones affecting me.
I had been puzzled by and anxious about this physical problem because it was new to me. The “cure” mentioned in the news program was to eliminate dairy products from one’s diet. But I wanted a genuine cure, one that would liberate my diet, not restrict it! Having experienced many healings through the study and practice of Christian Science, I felt encouraged to treat this problem through prayer, with the power of Truth, God. Many elements of my prayer were based on ideas from the Bible.
As I turned to prayer, all sense of fear about the issue vanished. Throughout the Bible, we are urged to “be not afraid” and to completely trust in God. As I listened to the news program, the idea came to me that God, infinite good, is supreme, and only His divine law of harmony governs man’s health and well-being. This spiritual truth formed the sturdy foundation of my prayer and banished any fear.
