God’s creation—complete, but not ended
When Christ Jesus walked the earth teaching spiritual lessons in everyday language, hearts were moved, minds were given new hope, twisted lives were redeemed, and disease-stricken bodies were healed.
These things happened because the spiritual ideas Jesus taught corrected misconceptions in human consciousness—misconceptions of creation that manifested themselves in discords, diseases, and harmful behavior. These spiritual ideas, representing creation as spiritual and complete, were God’s living and eternal ideas; they were infused with God’s, divine Truth’s, ever-active and supreme power and authority; and their corrective activity in individual consciousness brought reformation of character and physical healing.
Mary Baker Eddy, through her devotion to God and her deep search of the Bible, including Jesus’ teachings, discovered this spiritual view of creation—the divine Science of creation—that overturns and replaces in human consciousness the material theory of creation that results in human suffering. And she explained it in her book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, the textbook of Christian Science. This divine Science shows clearly that creation, though spiritual and complete, is not ended, but perpetually unfolding.
