Sudden speech impairment healed
One morning while leaving a parking garage and giving my ticket to the attendant, I found I was suddenly unable to enunciate words and couldn’t speak to him. The parking attendant didn’t seem to notice any problem as he recognized me and waved me out.
As I drove out of the garage, I confirmed that my hands and arms were handling the steering properly, so I figured it was safe to drive home. I prayed during the entire drive, affirming that divine Mind was in control and that there are no accidents in divine Mind. Mary Baker Eddy writes in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, “Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection” (p. 424).
When I reached home, the condition was still present and seemed very scary to me, even affecting how my face appeared in a mirror. In several hours I was to be flying to another state to visit friends.
