Quick healing during a flight
As a student of Christian Science, I am so grateful for the understanding that God is always there for His beloved children, meeting every need with love. I am always inspired by the testimonies of healing that I read in the Christian Science magazines, and I love the idea of sharing an experience of my own.
I have moved frequently and traveled extensively throughout my life without experiencing any issues with or anxieties about flying. This made it all the more surprising when I was on a plane a couple of years ago and there was a sudden, agonizing pain in my left ear during the final descent before landing. The pressure was unbearable. I was concerned that something in my ear was going to burst, and I began to feel nauseated from the pain.
My immediate response was to mentally recite “the scientific statement of being” found in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy: “There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all. Spirit is immortal Truth; matter is mortal error. Spirit is the real and eternal; matter is the unreal and temporal. Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual” (p. 468).
