Christian Science is the most effective healer
I was raised a Christian Scientist. Both of my parents and both of my grandmothers were class-taught Christian Scientists. Both of my grandfathers attended Christian Science church services. When I was a child, I had many healings from my own prayers and those of my parents. I was generally quite healthy and very active. I also saw and heard of wonderful healings that other Christian Scientists had from prayer alone. However, I didn’t realize the blessings of what I had. I thought everyone was as healthy, strong, and happy as I was.
After I left home, though, the medical route for health care had a “grass is greener on the other side of the fence” attraction for me. It seemed easier to go to a doctor or take a pill than to pray about physical problems. After I left college, there were a number of years of my life when I relied on medical care for my health needs, even though I still relied on prayer in Christian Science for all other challenges and for spiritual inspiration in my life.
During that time the doctors and nurses were kind and helpful, but I became ill more and more often. I began having food allergies, migraine headaches, and other discomforts. The medical community was not always able to bring the protection or quick relief that I remembered having when I was relying on prayer for healing.
