Children and the Christian Science practice: no problem!
I was very new in my study of Christian Science when a church member suggested, more than once, that I should think about taking class instruction. I really didn’t know what that entailed, but I remember being a little “put off” by her insistence. So I put off thinking about it. From time to time, I would hear my Christian Scientist friends rave about how wonderful the class experience was. I remember thinking, “It can’t be that great.”
My husband and I were busy raising five children, building a house, and, later on, moving to another state. While there, we had another child so, again, I put off thinking about class even though I was very involved in church and church activities and studying Christian Science. In fact, several new friends who were not members began going to church with me. Two of them joined. I loved all this sharing and progress.
It was during this time that I needed help from a Christian Science practitioner. He said: “You are more than ready for class instruction.” And I guess I was!
