The Identity Divine Love Reveals

The great Post-Impressionist artist Paul Gauguin painted a very beautiful, imposing work called, "Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?"—three foundational, thought-provoking questions that have been asked by many thinkers down through the ages. And yet they have only been definitively answered by two individuals: Christ Jesus, who fully demonstrated the Christ, the truth of spiritual identity; and Mary Baker Eddy, who discovered, and fully explained, the Science, or law, of Christ.

Jesus wasn't a philosopher who spoke or wrote about the nature of existence. He wasn't one of many who sought answers to life's deepest questions in ways they can never be found—through the human intellect, or the observations of the physical senses. He simply answered the fundamental question of identity by what he was—by being the complete embodiment of the truth of creation's spiritual origin, nature, and destiny, because his Father was literally God, Spirit.

In fulfillment of prophecy, Jesus' mother, Mary, was a virgin when he was conceived (see Luke 1:26-35). He was the child of her pure communion with divine Love, the offspring not of a material law of procreation, but of Love's law of revelation, the Holy Ghost, or Divine Science—the law that causes to appear, or makes visible, that which already exists. Jesus came into the world as no man or woman ever had before—nor ever would again—because humanity needed only one perfect illustration of the truth that we have never been created physically, but are actually, here and now, the innocent sons and daughters of God. Jesus' demonstration of Christ, the spiritual idea of Life, made him the Way-shower for all mankind, the "Saviour of the world."
