Prayer-based immunity

The well-loved 91st Psalm promises, "Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling." Right now one "plague" that is invading the "dwellings" of the world is the SARS virus. And so this issue of the Sentinel has come together around the concept of protecting ourselves from such an invasion.

The following articles and reports of healing all give examples of how it's possible to defend oneself, and other people, from disease and contagion—and to find healing of symptoms that have already appeared—through God's power. They all show in one way or another that the "dwelling" that needs protection is the collection of thoughts making up a person's mental home. They all explain in one way or another that the power to comfort and cure lies not in the five physical senses but in spiritual sense, where the divine Mind speaks truth to each of us.

Worldwide, the threat of SARS has consumed millions of people with fear, and it would be safe to say that millions more people have suffered with anxiety over catching the disease than have actually suffered from its symptoms. We hope that as you read the Sentinel this week, you feel a lessening of fear and an increasing that the world is not at the mercy of this, or any other, disease.
