Gratitude, healing, protection in thunderstorm
As a lifelong student of Christian Science, I have had many opportunities to prove God's immediate care for me and my family. There are two incidents in particular that I would like to share.
One summer evening, several years ago, I was fixing dinner for my family. I was wearing shorts and was barefoot because it was hot. A boiling pot of spaghetti was ready, so I picked it up from the stove and took it to the sink to pour the pasta into the strainer. But I wasn't paying attention, and poured scalding water down my bare leg and onto my foot. My daughters and my husband saw this happen, and they all gasped in horror.
The first thing out of my mouth, however, was not a scream or cry, but instead a firm statement that I knew was true: "I am fine! There are no accidents in God's kingdom."
