The child within
She was somewhere under ten
outside playing in the yard
when something went amiss,
so she quickly went inside,
passing her mom busy in the kitchen,
to her room where she threw
herself on the bed and silently
asked God to help her do better.
The comfort was immediate!
She was learning to lean on Him.
Now she's under eighty and her mom
has long since left that kitchen.
So sometime between midnight and dawn,
lying on a different bed,
the child within asks Him for direction.
The response is still immediate.
She can trust His perfect judgment.
And she thanks her Father-Mother
for all-ways being there. See Psalm 131
