Confidence in God heals malaria
Christian Science came to me in 1995 when I found an old issue of the Sentinel. Before then, I was biased because a minister had once told me, "There is nothing Christian or scientific about Christian Science." What a surprise when I found this copy of the Sentinel in the most unlikely of all places—my late father's bedroom. I picked it up, scanned the contents, and tucked it into my briefcase.
At that time I was a member of a Pentecostal church. I struggled mentally, wondering whether or not I should read the Sentinel. I decided to read it, but with the condition that if I found any comment, no matter how slight or subtle against God or Jesus, I'd throw the magazine into the fire.
I began to read and found the ideas in the Sentinel comforting. I read it and reread it and said to myself, "This surely does not sound like the voice of 'the evil one.' It sounds like the voice of truth."
