Completely healed in two hours

While I was putting away laundry one day, I noticed that all of the lights in my house suddenly blinked. I ran into another room and found that my three-year-old son, Soren, had received a strong electrical shock from a high intensity art lamp.

Soren was conscious but silent, and his little body was stiff and not moving. I felt frantic, wanting to pray, but feeling inadequate.

Holding him in my arms, I wondered how badly he'd been shocked. Then an angel message—a spiritual intuition from God—spoke to my heart and said, "The issue is not how big or little the shock; the issue is the omnipotence of God." This quieted my fears. I saw that this child was not the victim of some great evil force, but was aligned with God, the only true power of the universe.

I took Soren to a rocking chair, although it was difficult to get his body into a sitting position. I was overwhelmed with guilt, because I had known the lamp was faulty. But another angel message came to me: "God is the Father-Mother of this family. You and Soren are both embraced and surrounded by God's love."

At that moment I felt the beauty of God's unconditional love.

Soren then relaxed and cuddled close for some quiet prayer time. Next, he sat up and said, "I want to wash my hand." We went to the bathroom and ran some water over his hand. There was blackened skin, but Soren wasn't disturbed by this. He told me, "Don't worry, Mom; it will come off soon."

I remembered reading that household accidents were a major cause of harm to children.

We went to the living room, and I offered to sing a hymn while he sat in my lap. He said, "Sing the one they sing in the nursery for all the children." (The nursery attendant at our church regularly sang "O Gentle Presence" by Mary Baker Eddy [see Christian Science Hymnal, No. 207] to the children.)

As I was singing, I kept hearing his words "the one they sing ... for all the children." I knew my prayers had to be broader and include the safety of all the children in the world.

While praying, I remembered reading an article that said household accidents were a major cause of harm to children. I knew our home, which God had provided, could not be a source of danger to any of God's children. While I sat there and thought about this simple truth, Soren started playing with his toy truck.

A short time later, he ran to me, calling out, "Mom, look! No more hurt." His hand was perfect in every way, with no sign of blackness. This was less than two hours after the accident. About a week later, the tips of his fingers peeled slightly, but that was the only aftereffect.

Today Soren is an amateur violinist and an electrical engineer—with no fear of electricity.
