The testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals have inspired and encouraged me for many years. I share this testimony in the hope that it will be of similar help to others.

Some years ago, while at work, I suddenly began to have blurred vision and a strange feeling of lightheadedness. Shortly thereafter I experienced a sharp pain in my head, like a blow. I was also becoming quite fearful. At this point I asked my coworker to take me home, which he kindly agreed to do.

When I arrived at home I called a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. I told the practitioner that I felt like I had once when I was a boy, when I took a spill on my bicycle. (On that occasion it was hard for me to think or speak coherently, as I had apparently experienced a concussion.) The practitioner reminded me that error has no history. In other words, as this former experience could never have happened to God's perfect, spiritual idea—my true selfhood—so now I could never experience anything but God's ever-present goodness and allness. The practitioner shared several other statements and ideas that helped calm my thinking. I readily accepted that these statements were true of the man of God's creating—so that they had to be true of me.
