Love that wipes out hate

One afternoon while I was praying, I was filled with the idea that the spiritual, real man loves and that this is the whole nature of his being. This insight also included the recognition that each of us has this loving nature, even if we don't always realize it. Divine Love, which is God, and which man reflects, was so real to me that I felt inspired by the presence of Love the rest of the day. Everything and everyone around me seemed so full of light and beauty, expressive of God, Love.

Later, I went to an event at which I unexpectedly encountered an individual who previously had been very angry at me and even appeared to hate me. When I saw this person, the love I had been filled with all day was so real to me that I felt no fear or discomfort toward this individual. I was confident that man loves, and I shut out any belief that man could hate. The encounter was genuinely warm and loving.

As circumstances worked out, this individual and I were participating in an activity that brought us into each other's company frequently, and the feelings between us continued to be pleasant and loving. I could see that the hatred had been based on nothing more than a mistaken view of God and man, of Love and Love's creation.
