Proving the infinite
Christian Scientists often declare that God, good, is infinite. This is, in fact, the premise of Christian Science practice, that God is All. And to take this premise a step further, man expresses the infinity of God.
The word infinite provides much practical instruction that is worth exploring in relation to everyday life, but because it is incomprehensible to the human mind, we may brush it aside as theoretical and impractical.
In his parable of the prodigal son (see Luke 15:11–32), Christ Jesus has God represented by the father, and in speaking to his elder son the father says, "Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine." One might wonder how this could be when the father had already given part of his estate to the younger son who had spent it wastefully. The answer must be that what God gives to all His children is infinite, indivisible good, without apportionment.
