My gratitude for an understanding of the scientific relation...
My gratitude for an understanding of the scientific relation of God to His idea, man, is profound.
One day while I was on my regular morning walk, I tripped and fell headlong very hard. My first act was to turn to God, and immediately I felt enveloped in divine Love. Very thoughtfully I said "the scientific statement of being" (see Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 468). This gave me the courage to stand up.
As I did, I felt no fear. A car pulled up to the curb and two young women kindly took me home. I got out of the car on my own, crossed the yard, and walked up the stairs to my apartment, praying all the while. I went right to the kitchen sink and washed my face and hands. My nose appeared to be broken, and two fingers on my left hand were twisted around each other; there were other injuries to my ribs and knees.
