In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy...

In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy says of her discovery of Christian Science (p. 107), "God had been graciously preparing me during many years for the reception of this final revelation of the absolute divine Principle of scientific mental healing." As I study and apply the spiritual truths I am learning in Christian Science each day, I find God does indeed graciously prepare each one of us to meet the challenges we encounter.

As a child I would take long walks with my father on Sunday afternoons to "talk about the deep things of God." That was my father's way of saying we should discuss what I had learned that morning in the Christian Science Sunday School. He would explain how I could use these truths to heal myself and others. These tender seedlings have developed into a strong, and still growing, love for this wonderful, demonstrable religion.

The past eight years of my life have been a time of great regeneration. In 1980 my hair fell out in huge quantities. I did not consult a doctor, nor did I use any medication. For a number of weeks I used concordances to the Bible and to Mrs. Eddy's writings to look up references to the words renew, renewal, and restore. The Bible is filled with statements that gave me great courage; and the more I studied, the greater became the realization of God's constant capacity for purifying and renewing. I felt so at one with God and this truth. After about two months my hairdresser began to comment on the new growth of hair that was coming in all over my head. And so it was. My hair grew in as curly and thick as in the past.

This healing was especially helpful several years ago when I experienced a substantial weight loss. The spiritual understanding I had gained from the earlier experience helped bring about gradual healing. My weight is now normal, and my strength and health are restored. God has renewed my entire being.

I have had many other wonderful healings, including broken bones mended through prayer alone, and interesting and gainful employment found, giving me financial security. I am so blessed with good that I just stand in awe of God's outpouring of love for all of us, His dear children. For the numerous other healings I have had or witnessed in my home, I am eternally grateful to my Father-Mother God.
