How Great Is God!

If just one star were held in space,We still would say,How wonderful is God!And yet 'tis myriad stars,With orbits all their own,He holds above.

Humility

I pondered long and prayed to understandThe deeper meaning of humility;Asked that its presence might enrich my lifeAnd from vain pride and boasting set mefree.

Evensong

Prayer

The Ascent

Unceasing prayer perfection to attain,The patient overcoming of all sin,Perpetual watching till the Christ shall reign,A constant listening for the still, small voice within,—

Penitence

A prophet's house, the road anigh,Yet claimed no glance from passers-by:Too modest for admiring gaze,It spake the prophet's selfless ways.

At-one-ment

As gently as the dew on tender flower,Comes to the heart Love's holy, healing power; As lightly as the breeze in summer air,Truth clears the mist of sense that lodgeth there.
