God’s vast care

Two years ago, I traveled abroad to Greece and studied the language and culture. During this experience, I witnessed reminders of God’s provision and care, including one instance of seeing a lost item recovered and peace restored—even before the lost item was recovered—through a deeper understanding of God’s all-presence.

I was staying in downtown Athens, and after a day of much walking around the city, I noticed my debit card was missing. This card was how I withdrew needed funds, so it was critical that it be found.

As I prayed, I realized I could forgive myself for losing the card. And as I did, I felt calmer. I recalled where I had last used the card, at an ATM near my hotel. Finding nothing at the ATM, and with the bank closed for the evening, I walked back to the hotel and prayed to get close to God to address the fear of losing something essential.
