After enjoying more than ten years' membership in The Mother Church and in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, I feel impelled to express my gratitude through the periodicals. Christian Science has been my salvation. The understanding of its teachings, gained through study of the authorized literature, church membership, and association with loyal Christian Scientists, has literally lifted me up "out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings."

One healing, for which words can never adequately express my gratitude, is that of a fibroid tumor of over twenty years' standing, which caused me great discomfort, fear, and pain. Much work in Christian Science had been done for me with some resultant relief, but no healing. It remained for me to gain in understanding and to overcome the fear which I constantly felt.

One day, while I was visiting a Christian Science practitioner, the following verse from the Bible was given to me: "Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up." I clung to this passage whenever the fearful suggestions would come to me. As I gained in understanding, I grew more composed and less fearful. Mrs. Eddy has written in Science and Health (p. 368), "When fear disappears, the foundation of disease is gone." Some time after this I was unspeakably grateful when the condition dissolved into its native nothingness.
