Grateful for quick healings
Once while I was cooking, I picked up a cast iron skillet from the stove, not realizing it was super hot. Since the pan was filled with grease, I carried it to the sink before letting it go. My hand was burned, and the pain was severe.
Immediately I went to my desk and picked up the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Reaching out to God, I opened the book, and this is what my eye fell upon: “Have no fear that matter can ache, swell, and be inflamed as the result of a law of any kind, when it is self-evident that matter can have no pain nor inflammation” (p. 393).
The truth of this statement was so clear at that moment that I was instantly healed. The pain stopped completely, and there was no mark left on my hand. I was awed that in opening this book of some seven hundred pages I would find not just something meaningful but the exact answer to my need. For days afterward, I reveled in the immediacy and power of divine Love.
