Election time
[Robert Gilbert, “ ‘Awakened thought’ and politics,” cssentinel.com, September 22, 2022]
This is just what I needed as we approach election time. During competition for political positions, bringing every thought to the obedience of Christ is what’s needed. I am praying to stop making negative political comments. We must strive to listen to God’s direction in every dialogue.

Clarifies
[Karen Neff, “The heart stone,” Sentinel, September 19, 2022]
This article reminds us that when we lose something, we aren’t praying for its return, but to understand why it can’t be lost. This idea has helped me when I am tempted to lose my temper, patience, control, or composure, and clarifies what I must truly see when I start to judge someone as lost in substance abuse, hate, or poverty.

Uplifts and heals
I am so grateful for Brian Webster’s inspiring message (“ ‘The earth is the Lord’s,’ ” Sentinel, July 11, 2022), which I read today. This is what uplifts and heals. Keep up the good work! With much love,
Joan Smith, Benoni, Gauteng, South Africa
