The benefits of metaphysical healing
Rather than managing disease, Christian Science healing eliminates the cause of disease, and enables one to prove immunity to disease.
“Is it possible to heal the body through prayer?” a woman asked me over the phone. “Yes, it is,” I replied. “Prayer has healed me of physical ailments countless times over the decades, and I continue to benefit from it today. It’s also a way to retain good health without drugs.” She was delighted to hear that spiritual healing was possible and wanted to learn more.
Experiencing good health through prayer and without drugs is an unfamiliar concept for many people. Medical education so frequently dictates that a material remedy is necessary when we are faced with disease that many people believe drugs are their only option for relief. But Christian Science teaches a spiritual way to stay healthy and cure disease that is drug-free. It’s the metaphysical and spiritual method of healing that Jesus Christ taught and proved to be effective in his healing ministry.
Jesus showed that prayer demonstrates God’s healing power, destroying disease through spiritual means. He proved that God is all-knowing, all-wise Mind, ever present to destroy suffering and establish health. Jesus healed multitudes of sick people through the power of divine Mind alone, and he expected his followers to do the same.
