Dizziness and nausea dispelled
One morning last year I woke up feeling uneasy and with a heavy head. When I tried to get out of bed, I felt dizzy and had to lie back down and shut my eyes. I then began to try to pray. After about ten minutes, I attempted to get out of bed again, but was nauseous.
I became fearful and lay back down again, when a prayerful thought came to me to be still and calm my fear. This line from Psalms then kept repeating in my thought: “Be still, and know that I am God” (46:10). I especially paid attention to the latter words: “and know that I am God.” I tried to open my thought to understanding and knowing God.
I also thought of some ideas from that week’s Christian Science Bible Lesson, which was on Christ Jesus. In that Lesson, each section showed Jesus in a different role. One was as a good shepherd: Jesus cared for us by showing us our oneness with God. I then recalled an inspirational statement on reflection that had come during one of my annual association meetings on Christian Science healing: Reflection is the divine Mind seeing its own reflection—me. Therefore, I could not be restricted, confined, or impaired.
