God’s guarantee
One morning some months ago, I found myself thinking about God’s promises in a way that gave me a deeper understanding of my relationship to God.
I had begun experiencing the symptoms of a cold, and I sat down to read the Christian Science Bible Lesson for that week. My husband had just been dealing with a bad cold, and I had been taking care of him, all the while doing my best to see that sickness is not part of God’s creation. I was grateful that my husband was doing better, but now here I was, faced with the same symptoms.
The subject of the Lesson was “Love,” and the Golden Text was from Jeremiah: “I have loved you with an everlasting love” (31:3, New King James Version). On reading that, I thought with delight, “This is a guarantee!”
