Healing—the best Christmas gift of all
My happy Christmas memories are plentiful, but one year in particular our family had an experience that proved the power of God in our lives—and the power of prayer to heal even in frightening situations.
It was December 23 when, at bath time, I noticed that our older daughter, Amanda, had about a dozen red, raised welts on her legs. She said they didn't bother her, and since our backyard was part of a forested area, I assumed she had gotten some insect bites, and didn't worry about it.
The next morning, Christmas Eve, the welts had gone down and had left a bruised-looking area. This seemed like a sign of improvement, so we went on with our holiday plans.
