Who is your model?
I Asked a friend who has won national awards for photography to share a few basic ideas about this art. As I thought about some of the steps involved, I saw how they related to spiritual healing.
We first discussed the decision one makes before taking a picture. The photographer chooses a model, a subject on which to focus. As we talked, I realized we make this choice in our lives. Sometimes without even being conscious of it, we pattern our lives after someone who has inspired us. Our model's influence is evident in our daily living.
Thinking about this, I rejoiced that my study of Christian Science has revealed Christ Jesus as the model of scientific Christianity for mankind. Mary Baker Eddy writes in Rudimental Divine Science, speaking of Jesus: "His example is, to Christian Scientists, what the models of the masters in music and painting are to artists" (p. 3).
