I am so grateful to have been raised in Christian Science

I am so grateful to have been raised in Christian Science. When I was a toddler I was completely healed through Science of the effects of accidentally drinking gasoline. As a child I was quickly healed of a sprained ankle and the effects of a fall from a tower I was playing on. One morning when I was a teenager, I woke and got out of bed only to collapse from the flu. My mother and a Christian Science practitioner prayed for me while my brother read to me from issues of the Sentinel. By that evening I was up and dressed, and I went out on a dinner date, fully healed.

I married a Christian Scientist, and together we have overcome many challenges. Our needs have been met, and lack has been overcome through the understanding of where our true supply actually comes from—God. Proverbs states, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." By applying this statement in our lives, significant career moves have been made and suitable homes have been bought and sold.

Christian Science has been such a help in raising our two daughters. When I was pregnant with our second child, the midwife I had chosen made an appointment for me with a doctor she wanted to have on standby during the birth. The doctor told me that the baby was in breech position with almost no possibility of turning at that point. Considering this and other complications, he felt that the baby's life was at risk and that a hospital delivery was necessary.
