"The Song of the Lark"

Mrs. Eddy tells us that "outside the material sense of things, all is harmony." Science and Health, p. 489; A glimpse of this harmony of being was put on canvas by a noted artist many years ago. In a rural scene he painted a young girl, her face uplifted in an attitude of singing. In the clear sky above her a meadowlark was hovering above its nestlings in the grassy field below, apparently sending forth a melody of unrestrained joy and happiness.

This painting with its appropriate title, "The Song of the Lark," seems to reflect in a degree the glorious tranquillity that naturally prevails in God's spiritual creation. In Christian Science we learn that, in reality, we all live and have our being in the infinite realm of harmony, for God, Love, the Principle of harmony, is everywhere.

We read in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy: "Divine Love is infinite. Therefore all that really exists is in and of God, and manifests His love." p. 340; Divine Love voices the keynote of harmonious being, There is nothing to fear; and the Apostle John wrote: "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." I John 4:18;
