THE COST OF TRUE LIVING

In these days of mounting prices for human necessities, much is said about inflation and the high cost of living. Instead of looking merely to governments for the remedy, we should turn more resolutely to the teachings and example of him who promised that all needed things will be supplied if we seek first the kingdom of heaven, in which man is governed by divine Truth.

In one of his brief parables, Christ Jesus emphasizes to all Truth seekers the uniqueness, as well as the incomparable value, of the spiritual sense of Life which he exemplified. "The kingdom of heaven," he said, "is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it" (Matt. 13:45, 46).

The great Way-shower taught that heaven is not a future, faraway place, attainable through death. Though not observable by physical sense, heaven is here and now. It brings to one the harmonious consciousness of infinite Mind and its idea, man. It reveals Life as God, eternal, omnipotent, and omnipresent Spirit. Man, as the individual expression of Life, reflects Spirit's dominion, perfection, and peace.
