PARENTS, LET GO!

God is both Father and Mother, the universal and only true parent. In Christian Science, Father-Mother is a much-loved appellation for God, giving a sense of His tender care for His children. His spiritual ideas. In reality there are not two creations; there is one only, that of infinite Spirit, God. His creation is spiritual and perfect, and only spiritual qualities are real.

Christ Jesus recognized God as his Father and his true selfhood as the Christ, God's spiritual offspring. Jesus also knew that the Father who cares for the lilies and sparrows most certainly cares for every need of the human family. In line with the Master's teachings, Christian Science explains that the so-called material creation is a counterfeit of the divine.

In reality children are God's spiritual ideas and therefore belong to God. Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader, gives the spiritual definition of "children" as "the spiritual thoughts and representatives of Life, Truth, and Love" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 582).
