Giving my voice to God
I’m grateful for the gift of life God has given us all. In the past year, I have seen much progress in almost every aspect of my life, especially in my spiritual growth.
Since childhood, I’ve had an intense desire to serve God through singing. I was in different school choirs and, before being introduced to Christian Science, sang in my former Anglican church’s choir. But as much as I enjoyed singing, I was always discouraged by fear—of failure and being judged by other people.
I decided to pray about this and seek healing ideas in the Bible, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and other writings by Mary Baker Eddy, and the Christian Science periodicals. In the Bible I found, “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (II Timothy 1:7). This verse inspired me to “worship the Father in spirit and in truth” (John 4:23) with confidence.
