Foot pain healed

A while ago I experienced a wonderful outcome of prayer. In October 2022, during my annual Christian Science students’ association meeting—an annual gathering for spiritual training—my foot began hurting. Though tempted to try to determine a reason for the pain, such as a previous activity, I was alert to not indulge in this thinking. Looking for a physical cause and solution wouldn’t result in healing.

Then this statement by Mary Baker Eddy occurred to me: “It requires courage to utter truth; for the higher Truth lifts her voice, the louder will error scream, until its inarticulate sound is forever silenced in oblivion” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 97). Any fear or concern immediately quieted. I was no longer disturbed by the pain, which had decreased, and could engage in normal activities without much discomfort or any outward evidence of a problem.

I continued to pray during the days following my association meeting, but the problem persisted. When it came time for a prearranged visit to two theme parks with my niece, I decided it would be right to go, even though we would be on our feet for almost two days. I had invested considerable effort in planning this trip, and it seemed wise to go forward with it, since it involved others who were counting on me to participate. During this trip, I looked at the infrequent stabs of pain as reminders to pray, and I was able to participate normally.
