Foot pain gone
One evening last fall, during a party at the home of friends, my right foot began to throb. I thought nothing of it and continued to help prepare food in the kitchen. After an hour or so, however, my foot swelled, and I could no longer put any weight on it.
Our family left the party early, and when we arrived home, I hobbled straight to bed and began praying. As a Christian Scientist, I have learned that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalms 46:1). I have relied on Christian Science for healing all my life and have proved it to be effective in so many instances.
As my husband was helping me into bed, he said, “You’ll be fine after some metaphysical time.” I was so grateful for that statement! He was referring to the scientific, metaphysical method of healing explained by Mary Baker Eddy in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. There was no fear in his mind that I wouldn’t be able to walk soon. There was no questioning “What could this possibly be?” or “Why is this happening?” We both trust God’s loving care for our family, and although my husband is not a student of Christian Science, he has witnessed many healings over the years.
