Two powerful healings
While visiting family, I tripped and fell hard, and my knee took the brunt of the fall. As I fell, the thought that came loud and clear was “On God!” I shouted it out loud as I fell, and again and again as I lay on the floor for several seconds.
This thought spoke to me of the spiritual fact that I relied and rested on God, and it reminded me that I could lean and did lean on God’s ever-present love. Because I was safe as God’s spiritual reflection, I knew that, in reality, I could never really fall. Immediately, I made the decision to “rise in the strength of Spirit …” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 393).
The pain in my left knee was severe, but I knew that keeping my thought on the truth of my spiritual identity as God’s reflection would bring healing. It was a beautiful, warm day, and I had been preparing to take a walk in the countryside. So I got up from the floor, put on my sneakers, and headed out. I did not look at the knee.
