Joy in workplace regained
In many ways, the healing I’m about to share meant more to me than many of the physical healings I’ve had over the years. Why? Because it has completely changed the way I see myself and my fellow man. Christian Science Sunday School students learn early on that God, Love, is “up and down and all around.” God is everywhere and All. To truly feel that circle of protection and peace, love and joy, is immeasurable!
Several years ago I found myself in the middle of a personality clash at work. Two coworkers of mine had two very different opinions of events, and both were feeling victimized. Each confided in me about their feelings and asked me to side with them. Thinking I was taking the higher road, I declined. That was all I did. I didn’t pray about the situation. Instead, I ignored it, hoping it would go away. But it didn’t.
In her Miscellaneous Writings 1883–1896, Mary Baker Eddy states, “Error, left to itself, accumulates” (p. 348). If we simply ignore injustice or mistaken thinking about God and our spiritual identity, things don’t tend to improve.
