YOUR LETTERS
"... the love and deep respect for the differing cultures and religions [shower] more of heaven on earth."
I was delighted to read the article by Kim Shippey "May peace prevail" (February 7) reporting on the Parliament of the World's Religions held in South Africa last December. Over the Christmas holiday I participated in an independent, nonpolitical volunteer organization promoting peace education and crosscultural friendship and affiliated with UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization), called the Children's International summer Villages, where representatives from thirteen countries came together in a village atmosphere. The commitment and attitudes of the young people of faith, as in South Africa, were a heartwarming memorable experience in this part of the world also, the love and deep respect for the differing cultures and religions showering more of heaven on earth.
Thank you for your commitment to publishing only good for our global village. My heart sings praises to God alone as we witness peace on earth now.
