An open letter from a shortwave listener
I think that you will be interested to know that I am one of those who came into Christian Science as a result of listening to the shortwave broadcasts of the Christian Science Sentinel, The Herald of Christian Science, and the Sunday service from The Mother Church. I took out subscriptions to the Christian Science periodicals and eventually found my way to the local Christian Science Society, of which I am now a board member and organist—the latter despite not having touched a keyboard in over twenty years! What a joy it has been to play the organ again. After all this time my hands and feet still know what to do! Truly, He has restored "the years that the locust hath eaten."
Other healings include the end of a twenty-year smoking habit, which dropped away overnight, cessation of social drinking, the demise of high blood pressure, etc.
Naturally there are times when progress seems slow or nonexistent, but looking back, I see that so much has already been gained through my study of Christian Science. Next step will be class instruction—perhaps next year. As the hymn says, I can truly affirm, "My heart is singing: I have found the way" [Christian Science Hymnal, No. 64].
