Dudley is a 14-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, whose main activities are digging for gophers, moles, or voles, and chasing squirrels. He takes great delight in his job description as he sees it—to rid the yard of varmints who would destroy our garden, and to enjoy his job.

Dudley

We had recently moved to a new town, and while walking in the yard one day, I noticed that Dudley had picked up something and was busily crunching it in his mouth. I thought nothing of it. But the next day he would not eat, did not want to go walking, and was having a hard time with the elimination process. I prayed about it as best I could, being busy with many other things and reasoning, too, that this would work itself out.
