All creatures–big and small

I never thought of myself as a “cat person,” but soon after moving into our second apartment my wife and I adopted two black-and-white kittens and my heart melted. As I adjusted to being a pet owner, I realized something: God’s love embraces all creatures! Every aspect of His creation, including pets and wildlife, reflects harmony and vivacity. To put it another way: All of God’s creatures express His qualities in their own way, whether it’s through the sweet affection of a lap cat or the grace of a horse.

This issue is packed with stories about seeing God’s tender love for all His creatures, and we hope you’ll find it appealing and inspiring whether or not you’re a pet owner! Caroline Martin sets the stage in the lead article: “Over the years I have been privileged to witness some beautiful and profound healings involving animals. I have found that regardless of the circumstance or condition of the animal, the basic premise for beginning my prayer is the same: I start with God and what I know about Him. Right away that places me on higher ground” (p. 6). The rest of the cover section includes healings involving cats, dogs, goats . . . even ants!

Of course, this issue isn’t limited to animals. Check out Pam Urell’s article on page 14, which discusses the blessings that come when we’re receptive to God’s angel messages, no matter what forms they take in our lives. And, as always, the “News of Healing” section offers inspiring testimonies of Christian Science healing.
