Having grown up in a religious family, I realized while I was still of school age that our religion exhibited many inconsistencies and shortcomings. When I left school, I interested myself in the writings of the most diverse philosophies, and in my search for Truth I became acquainted with Christian Science.

My first visits to Wednesday evening testimony meetings in a Church of Christ, Scientist, left me with the impression that the people were very gullible, so unbelievable did the testimonies of healing that were given seem to me. But through many years of intensive study of Christian Science and my own healing experiences I have come to realize that this is the pure truth I was seeking.

I am indebted to the understanding of Christian Science alone for healings of the most varied sort, such as those of blood poisoning, heart trouble, wound on the shin, which before had not properly healed, and circulatory disturbances. My most impressive experience was the healing of appendicitis. The pain had increased to such an extent that I seemed unable to grasp the thoughts needed. When I decisively refused to call for medical help and relied completely on the efficacy of Spirit, the pain suddenly disappeared and has never reappeared. This was four years ago.
