How grateful I am to God for Mrs. Eddy and Christian Science!...

How grateful I am to God for Mrs. Eddy and Christian Science! To say this religion has helped me is putting it mildly.

I have experienced many healings, but one stands out. An accident took place one evening after I had returned home from work. I was up in a carob tree trimming it for my landlady when I fell to the ground and landed on my back. The fall was approximately twenty feet. I lay there a short time while my landlady called a practitioner. She returned to my side and helped me to my feet, into the house, and into bed. During this time we were repeating "the scientific statement of being" from the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, which includes this sentence (p. 468): "Spirit is immortal Truth; matter is mortal error," together with other truths from the same book.

At first I was engulfed in pain, but that was gradually healed through the practitioners help. During all of this time I was holding to these statements from the textbook (pp. 470, 471): "The relations of God and man, divine Principle and idea, are indestructible in Science; and Science knows no lapse from nor return to harmony, but holds the divine order or spiritual law, in which God and all that He creates are perfect and eternal, to have remained unchanged in its eternal history," and (p. 424) "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection."
