Mrs. Eddy states (Science and Health, p. 66), "Each successive stage of experience unfolds new views of divine goodness and love."

A number of years ago I had an opportunity to prove the truth of this statement. I had lost all interest in and love for my study of music for several years. During this period of time I had suffered from a nervous breakdown, but I had received help from having Christian Science treatment. My thought was being awakened from self-centered mesmerism, and one day the question came to me, "Why not have your piano tuned and play over your old pieces?"

I felt sure this leading was the result of the prayerful work done for me, and I was obedient to it. All my love for and interest in my music returned the day the piano was tuned. I had an instantaneous healing. I played four hours. According to human belief, when one has not played the piano for several years, his hands are in no condition to play; but my thought was so filled with love and obedience that my hands were instantly healed. And the healing that day included all the effects of the nervous breakdown.
