My mother was told about...

My mother was told about Christian Science when I was a young girl. She had been a semi-invalid; but after she had pondered the contents of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy for about a year, the light of its glorious truth dawned on her consciousness, and she was healed. For many years after that she enjoyed very good health.

Solely through the help of Christian Science I won scholarships in spite of teachers and relatives doubting my ability to do so. During my school life, including four years at college, I was not late or absent, and since then I have continued working full time and have not spent a day in bed because of illness. This is indeed a testimony to the effect of Christian Science on one's life. I should like to add that I have not taken drugs, used alcohol or tobacco, drunk tea or coffee.

Once when we were on holiday together, my younger brother fell down a precipice into a stream and badly injured one of his legs. He crawled up the bank with a large lump on the leg. We covered it, and in unison repeated the Lord's Prayer with its spiritual interpretation given on pages 16 and 17 of Science and Health. Mrs. Eddy interprets the words, "Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven," in this way: "Enable us to know,— as in heaven, so on earth,—God is omnipotent, supreme." God's omnipotence was proved to us, because after we had earnestly and silently prayed for a short time, we were able to continue our walk, my brother's injured leg having been restored to its normal state.
