The privilege of being a student of Christian Science is most gratifying and joyous because it affords one an opportunity of proving that "our God is Love, unchanging Love" and that "God's promises are kept" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 269).

In my experience so–called children's contagious diseases have been healed through Christian Science treatment within a twenty–four–hour period, which eliminated the quarantine required by our state. Earache, toothache, and colds have also been overcome by our knowing the truth, as taught in Christian Science.

About a year ago I had an experience which enriched my understanding of God. My need was to realize that I am an individual, spiritual child of God, and not dependent upon another for m welfare and happiness. When my twin sister married, I became very lonely. I was in such a mental state that I seemed to be in a daze. Most of my nights were spent in tears, and God seemed far away from me. I asked help of a practitioner. The reading of the beautiful passages from some of the writings of our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, which the practitioner had recommended, brought an instantaneous healing, and with it came peace and joy. The sentence from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 336) that "God, the divine Principle of man, and man in God's likeness are inseparable, harmonious, and eternal," was extremely helpful. Also comforting was Hymn No. 149 in the Christian Science Hymnal.
