THE CONQUEST OF GRIEF

Christian Science dispels human grief. It comforts the mourner and fills the aching void of separation with joy in the understanding of man's eternal life in God. Christian Science reveals God as the only Life and man as Life's immortal expression, undying because inseparable from the Father.

Man never dies. His true, spiritual selfhood never leaves the loving embrace of Deity. The material personality which appears at birth, only to vanish from the earthly scene in death, is a counterfeit of man's immortal identity, a frail illusion, which never held within it the issues of real being. Its coming and going cannot touch Life's immutable reflection.

Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 331), "If life were in mortal man or material things, it would be subject to their limitations and would end in death." And she adds this definitive statement: "Life is Mind, the creator reflected in His creations." God is the only Life, and man, God's incorporeal idea, embodies the forces of immortality, the deathless energies of goodness, love, and sinless joy, which emanate from eternal Spirit.
