In the year 1930 I had got to the end of my extremity. I was a very sick woman, and had been under medical treatment for years because of nervous complaints. The climax came when for two months I had suffered continuously with severe overaction of the bowels, attended by extreme sickness, and was not able to retain any kind of food. My medical advisers wanted me to go into a nursing home for an operation, but instead of following their advice I reached out for something higher. A friend, a student of Christian Science, rang up a practitioner, who took the case. To my husband's and my own joy I was up in two days, feeling stronger than I had felt for years, and I was able to return to my work as a teacher in a few days. This was such a revelation to me that I determined to search for Truth.

I am always grateful for a testimony that I read soon after this experience, written by a little child, who declared that it was only mortal mind that needed healing. This opened my eyes to the truth, and I felt such an inspiration of divine Love. This healing has been complete, for I have had no return of the trouble. I wish to say that at the same time many other ailments, such as catarrh, indigestion, and severe headaches, faded away without any specific treatment.

Since that time my family and I have experienced many healings, but to me the greatest of all has been the healing of grief at the passing of my dear husband. This was almost an instantaneous healing.
