Among the Churches

Overland Park, Kansas (First Church).—Morning, afternoon, and evening dedicatory services of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Overland Park, were held on Sunday, September 28, 1941. This was an occasion of gratitude, for a Christian Science edifice cannot be dedicated until completed and free of debt.

In June, 1923, a group of people interested in Christian Science organized as Christian Science Society, Overland Park, Kansas.

The first meetings were held in a motion picture theater and continued there for about a year, at which time it seemed advisable to have a home, and a location on Marty Avenue, which included a very small building, was purchased. The building was remodeled and services were held in it for the next few years, during which time plans were made for a permanent church edifice.
