God's Will

THY will, not mine—most humbly do I pray
As did our Master in Gethsemane.
I know Thy will is only good alway,
I drink the cup, in mercy given me.

Thy will, not mine—may strength be mine to bear
The cross of hatred of Thy truth and love!
With joy I learn for Thee to do and dare
In service that brings blessings from above.

Thy will, not mine—most gladly do I yield
All thought of self, of prideful worldliness;
Find in Thy Word my scepter and my shield,
So seek to earn the crown of righteousness.
